This Japanese green tea is blend of premium matcha and sencha with vivid colour and rich umami.
Deep-steamed (fukamushi) sencha is combined with fragrant matcha from Yame, one of Japan’s most respected regions for high-grade green tea. The blend is supervised by tea master Sekiya Yoshitsugu, who holds Japan’s top-level tea appraisal title (10-dan). Expect a bright green cup with a smooth, almost creamy texture, layered umami and a long, mellow finish a little touch of everyday luxury in your teacup.

What are sencha and matcha?

Sencha is Japan’s most popular green tea. Fresh leaves are briefly steamed, then rolled and dried, preserving a vibrant green colour and a balance of grassy freshness, gentle sweetness and light astringency.

Matcha is finely milled powdered green tea made from shade-grown leaves. Shading the tea bushes increases chlorophyll and amino acids such as L-theanine, resulting in a deeper colour and a rich, umami-forward flavour.

By blending Yame matcha with sencha, this tea combines the clarity and freshness of leaf tea with the depth, body and vivid colour of matcha.

How to prepare?

  • Use about 1 teaspoon (2–3 g) of tea leaves per 120–150 ml of water.

  • First boil the water, then let it cool to 75–80°C.

  • Steep for about 1 minute, then pour out every last drop from the teapot.

For a second infusion, use slightly hotter water and a shorter steeping time (about 30 seconds). Each infusion will reveal different flavour nuances.

To keep the tea smooth and not bitter, avoid using boiling water or steeping for too long.

Storage tip: Store in a tightly sealed bag or container, away from light, heat and moisture. For the best flavour and aroma, consume soon after opening.
